Omega 3 Fatty Acid Chews
You may have seen us distracting your pooch during vaccinations with the aid of treats. Well, those aren’t just to keep them occupied during their exams. The reasoning is so much deeper than that. Ready for the 411? Those treats contain omega-3 fatty acids, which are abundant in fish oils. These fatty acids act as antioxidants and prevent those pesky free radicals from damaging different organs in the body. For the sake of this conversation (there are other benefits of omega-3 fatty acids), when free radicals are produced, cartilage and joints are damaged, so arthritis can ramp up to the next level and so on, causing discomfort and pain. By supplementing with these treats, you can make them love you even more, because everyone loves treats, all while helping support their joints. This month, we are offering these omega-3 fatty acid chews at 10% off. But how will you know if you pooch likes them? Don’t worry, we got you covered. We’ll give your dog a piece or two to make sure they are in love with them as much as your dog is in love with you, which should be off the radar (Radar Love-get it??)!
This one is kind of a little know secret but we are ready to spill the beans. Adequan is an intramuscular injection that is given to dogs to aid in the process of arthritis relief. This medication is composed of molecules called PSGAGs, which are beneficial in the process of making new cartilage and joint fluid, decreasing cartilage breakdown and inflammation, all while promoting the body’s natural mechanisms to repair diseased joints. Adequan has a higher affinity for joints affected with arthritis, so that means more is used in the joints that need them the most, providing the optimum amount of arthritis relief! The regimen for this medication is twice weekly for four weeks and then used on a maintenance schedule. Yes, those patients that can’t take certain oral medications (e.g. NSAIDs) can have great arthritis relief as well! Adequan starts to work about two hours after injection, but you may not see substantial improvement until after a few treatments. However, after multiple treatments, pet owners have raved that it’s like their dog is acting like they did in the good ol’ days. For the month of January, we are offering 20% off Adequan injections
You’ve all likely played with LASERs at one point in your life. Did you know LASERs have an important use in veterinary medicine? By directing this beam onto specific sites, we are able to increase blood flow to the area, thus reducing inflammation and pain, and increasing healing speed. If you want the mechanisms on these, just chat with us. Some of the conditions LASER therapy can treat include arthritis and certain other musculoskeletal issues such as muscle sprains, spinal pain, hot spots, wounds, and so much more. We’ll be implementing this treatment later in the month month, so be on the lookout!
